Alexandra Abreu Loureiro is partner at the Brunswick Group, a reputation consulting group which leads in Portugal and in the Portuguese-speaking world.



Gonçalo Mendes, partner at Oxy Capital, focuses on financing and implementing Oxy Capital II, an investment vehicle for growth and capital replacement in Portuguese companies. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of Nova SBE University and has gone through organizations such as ECS Capital, Millennium Global Investments and McKinsey & Company.


Diane Villax is Founder Chairman of Hovione, a company she founded in 1959 with her husband, Ivan Villax. Hovione is a worldwide company with a large experience in the development and compliant manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Drug Product Intermediates.



Daniel Viana has been a partner of Oxy Capital since its founding in 2012. Oxy Capital is a private equity fund management company with over one billion euros under management. He is currently dedicated to investing in the Oxy Capital II Fund which seeks to invest in Portuguese SMEs with high growth potential. He was previously Associate Director at UBS Investment Bank in New York and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Garrett McNamara is a giant wave explorer, renowned for discovering and pioneering when surfing the world’s largest wave in Nazareth. Since then he has shared his experience as a leader.



Managing Partner at Alantra has over 25 years of experience in debt transaction structuring and asset management. Prior to joining Alantra in 2014, he was a partner at PwC, responsible for debt advisory practice in Spain. In the past he was a director at European Capital and worked in this same area at BNP Paribas Iberia, New York and Paris.



José Lemos is a founding partner at Clearwater International. Among others he was founder and executive director of CBI (Investment Bank) and president of the Lisbon Stock Exchange.



João Bento has been CEO of CTT since May 2019. He is also a member of the General Council of the University of Lisbon, Vice President of the Academy of Engineering, member of the Strategic Innovation Council of Vieira de Almeida and member of the General Council of the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance. .



Rita Barosa is CEO of Alantra, a Spanis global mid-market specialist, nominated in 2019 for “European Corporate Finance House of The Year”. She also worked at Grupo Espírito Santo as advisor to the Board of Directors.

Marco Lebre, partner at Crest Capital Partners, founded Explorer Investments in 2002, where he was dedicated to private equity. Today he is also a visiting professor at Católica University.



Nuno Sequeira is the CEO of Solzaima. Solzaima, a renewable energy equipment company, national leader in biomass solutions. He is also a partner at Singularity Capital.


Coelho Borges

João Coelho Borges is a partner at Magnum Capital. He work in private equity at Och-Ziff Capital Management in London and also worked at Goldman Sachs. He is currently president of ROQ and Board Member of Vendap, INDIBA and Aire Networks.



Michael Santos studied Organization and Business Management at ISCTE. He is Partner, Corporate and International Tax at KPMG, which provides audit, tax and advisory services



João Talone, founder and partner of Magnum Capital in 2006, was CEO of EDP and Vice President of HydroCantábrico and Special Government Commissioner.



Marcos Lagoa is a board director at Family Business Association. He was chairman and CEO of Resiquímica. He is also a mentor at StartUp Sintra.


Pedro Siza Vieira is a Portuguese lawyer and politician. From October 2017 to October 2018 he was Minister Assistant to the Prime-Minister, and he is currently, Assistant Minister to the Prime-Minister and Minister of Economy of the Portuguese Government.



KPMG Associate Partner holds a Management Degree, a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance and a Master’s degree in Finance from ISCTE. She has over a decade and a half of experience in the M&A market and currently serves in KPMG’s Deal Advisory area.


Peter Villax is currently Chairman of Hovione Capital, a VC firm focused on investing in life sciences’ projects across Europe. Peter is the President of the Portuguese Family Business Association and Board Member of the European Family Businesses Federation.

Chief of Business Operations at Nanoform. Gonçalo is a Biochemist by training and has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and venture capital industries.


Peter joined Mercia Asset Management PLC (UK) in 2015 as Head of Life Sciences & Biosciences. He is currently responsible for investing in new companies in the life sciences sector, with over 20 years’ experience. In addition became Chief Operating Officer in 2018.


Dirk Kersten is a General Partner at Forbion and focuses primarily on new investments. Dirk was previously a Partner at Gilde Healthcare, where he led their Boston/US operations.

Jose Mesa is a Partner at Alta Life Sciences where he invests in drug development and medical devices. Jose was previously Investment Director at Caixa Capital Risc where he lead analysis, negotiation and structuring of investments in life sciences companies.


Jorge Santos da Silva is a Partner at McKinsey where he leads the Biotech and Biosimilars practice. His areas of expertise are commercial and marketing strategy, launch and M&A. He previously had a successful academic career in science, especially in neurology/neuroscience.


João Ribas joined Novo Seeds in 2018 as an Investment Associate. Previously, he was an analyst at M Ventures. Among other activities, he started several new ventures in the USA and Europe.


Jonathan Tobin is an Investment Director at Arix Bioscience where he specializes in biotechnology investments. He currently sits on the board of Artios Pharma, Atox Bio and Mitoconix Bio.



Khatereh is Executive Director and Oncology Search and Evaluation Lead at Merck Sharp & Dohme in London. Previously, Khatereh advised several Biotechs and led several M&A and licensing deals.


Giovanni is a Partner at Medicxi and has been with the firm since its inception in 2016. Prior to Medicxi, Giovanni was a Principal at Index Ventures for four years, having joined in 2012.


Pablo is the Director of Life Science Investment Funds at Caixa Capital Risc. He currently serves on the Board of Medlumics, Aelix Therapeutics, Minoryx Therapeutics, iProteos, Proteodesign and Sanifit.


David Braga Malta is a Venture Partner at Vesalius Biocapital. He previously founded NeurIMM, Cell2B and BoostPharma, where he serves(ed) as a manager. He was previously a member of Caixa Capital’s venture capital team.


Marco Fernandes is currently CEO of PME Investimentos, leading the new 200M Coinvestment Fund and Social Innovation Fund management teams. Previously was Director of DNA Cascais and CEO of Portugal Ventures


Daniela Couto is a Principal at Biogeneration Ventures. Daniela is the managing director of Staten Biotech and serves on the board of Catalym. Daniela previously was CEO at Cell2B, a life sciences company that she co-founded dedicated to treat immune and inflammatory diseases.



MD, PhD, MBA, co-founder & CEO of Tonic App, a digital health startup. Built her clinical and academic career for more than 17 years before joining this venture.


Prof. Bruno Silva-Santos is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and Principal Investigator at João Lobo Antunes Molecular Institute of Medicine in Lisbon.

Luís Castro Henriques is Chairman & CEO of AICEP – Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency. Previously, he was Executive Board Member of AICEP, since 2014, responsible for investment (Loans, Grants & Tax Benefits), financial management and corporate relations.
